Dundee Precious Metals - Kapan

Deno Gold Mining Company (DGMC) CJSC is a mining and processing company established in 2005. DGMC, previously known as the Kapan Mine Metallurgy Company, was sold to Swiss owned Deno Gmbh in 2002. Three years later, in 2005, Dundee Precious Metals Inc. of Canada acquired DGMC from its Swiss owners.


Dundee Precious Metals is a Canadian based international mining company with interests not only in Kapan, but also in Bulgaria, Namibia and Serbia, and is committed to the development, mining, production and exploration of precious metals.


Deno Gold Mining Company’s underground and surface operations are based on the Shahumyan poly metallic deposit, which is currently being mined underground and processed on surface into a concentrate in the town of Kapan.


DGMC’s annual production of mined and processed ore is forecasted at 600,000 tons. DGMC produces and sells copper and zinc concentrates also containing gold and silver, which are shipped via truck and rail to Georgia.


Further to an agreement reached with the Government of Armenia, and the license granted to Deno Gold, DGMC is currently conducting exploration work for the potential of a future open pit within the existing mining license area and is exploring within an exploration license in the immediate Kapan area.  


DGMC is heavily involved in local community and social programs. It is the largest contributor to the economy of Kapan and its surrounding communities, and it currently employs 1250 employees.
