HSBC<mce:script type= " />Five customers each received Trade Award Certificates from Stuart Nivison, Head of HSBC Trade and Supply Chain Europe, and a prize of AMD one million to be used towards trade facilities. Awards were granted in the following categories: Best Trade Customer; Best Trade Customer - Documentary Credits; Best Trade Customer - Bank Guarantees; Best Trade Customer – Collections and Best Trade Newcomer. The Trade Awards will be conducted on annual basis and may be expanded in the future. Across the world, including in Armenia, HSBC is focused on providing advice and support to companies that want to trade and invest internationally. The Trade Awards are an important recognition of success, aimed to inspire and motivate the business community.

To increase trade activity and encourage businesses to look internationally for opportunities, HSBC Bank Armenia has teamed up with the SME Development National Centre and the two organizations have drawn up a statement of intent to work together to support trade in Armenia. The key element of this is the delivery of Trade Academy workshops to educate and raise awareness of trade related issues, and to simplify the whole end-to-end process for customers and businesses trading internationally.

The right experience for growing a sustainable business

HSBC has a strong track record on sustainability and is committed to managing a sustainable business. The HSBC Group concept “save, reduce and recycle” is being embedded in Armenia, in both the daily and outside-work activities of the bank’s employees. Examples include the “Plastic free communities” program, a joint project with COAF, under which one thousand reusable bags, tailored by women from underprivileged villages, have been given free of charge to customers. Regular awareness-raising days are held in the bank, such as “car-free” and “no printing” days. Bank employees also participate in environmental clean-up and nature protection events. Most recently in the Vayots Dzor region an area on the way to Noravank was cleared of cans, plastic and glass bottles. The waste collected was passed on to a partner organization, AR & AR Engineering LLC, the first plastic bottle recycling company in Armenia.
