ArmeniaNow.com internet daily was founded in July, 2002 as the first of its kind online publication based in Armenia.
Founded by (American) journalist John Hughes and (British) journalist Tony Halpin (Times of London Moscow Bureau Chief), ArmeniaNow began as a “laboratory” through which associates of its parent NGO New Times Journalism Training Center might have an outlet for producing information in the manner taught through trainings at the NGO.
Soon, ArmeniaNow became a rare and respected source of information, producing news and news-features that are grounded in the principles of independent journalism: accuracy, fairness, balance and an informed point of view. ArmeniaNow has no political affiliation.
ArmeniaNow posts up to 10 articles per day, mostly produced by its staff team of reporters, photographer, editors, translators and webmaster. Articles appear in Armenian and English.
Additionally, ArmeniaNow produces content for the twice-yearly AGBU magazine. (ArmeniaNow is sponsored by AGBU, however, content for the website is entirely determined and produced by ArmeniaNow.)
We have readership from more than 200 countries and draw about 50,000 unique visits per month. Advertising is available on ArmeniaNow, at a discount to fellow AmCham members.
